The TEI encourages community members to join the Consortium as individuals or institutions. Your membership fees help us with activities like:
- supporting the Technical Council in maintaining and improving the Guidelines and tools
- covering the costs of holding the Annual Meetings
- supporting the work of publishing the Journal of the TEI
- the administration of the Consortium, the website, etc.
- other activities, such as the Rahtz Prize
The TEI offers two categories of participation:
Institutional Member:
any institution, company, organization, or project. Institutional member representatives may cast one vote in elections for the TEI Board and for the TEI Council, and receive all other benefits of membership. Membership levels and fees are detailed below.
Individual Member:
an individual person. Individual Members may cast one vote in elections for the TEI Board and for the TEI Council, and receive all other benefits of membership. The fee for an individual membership is USD 50 per year, or (if that's not feasible) a donation in any amount (please add a comment indicating the donation is intended to be a membership fee).

Application for Membership:
Use the form below to become a member of the TEI. We encourage you to choose the level of membership appropriate to your engagement with the TEI and your ability to support it. Different levels of membership allow you to include different numbers of individuals in TEI-sponsored discounts, as active participants in the TEI members forums, etc. You will have the option of paying online or generating an invoice to be paid by check or wire transfer.
