Welcome!

This section of the TEI web site is for individual and institutional members of the Text Encoding Initiative Consortium, and for those who are interested in becoming members.

If you're already a member, use your username and password to log in (on the upper right of this page).  Once logged in, you will be able to edit your profile, pay membership or subscriber dues, participate in forums, and send messages to other members.

Without being logged in, you can still browse a directory of members, read the TEI News, find out about upcoming events, or join the TEI

We invite all individuals and institutions concerned with creating or making use of electronic text to join the TEI Consortium, and help our community advance this important standard.

Membership in the TEI Consortium is one of the most important ways to support the TEI's work. Since the founding of the consortium, membership support has directly enabled the TEI to publish two new versions of the TEI Guidelines, and has provided funding for the TEI's annual Conference and Members' Meeting, the TEI Special Interest Groups, and the many other activities the TEI undertakes.

Individual members are entitled to vote in the TEI Technical Council and TEI Executive Board elections. The designated elector for institutional members may cast a single vote in both the TEI Technical Council and TEI Board elections, in advance of the TEI annual meeting. Members are encouraged to attend the TEI annual general meeting and receive a substantial discount on TEI conference registration, and also receive discounts on workshops, summer schools, and project consulting.

Institutional membership is for the calendar year and the fee is pro-rated after 180 days; new institutional memberships initiated within 90 days of the end of the calendar year will automatically be extended for the next calendar year at no extra charge.  Individual memberships can be initiated at any time and will come up for renewal a year from when they begin; individual members who pay via PayPal can choose to have their membership fee charged on a recurring annual basis. The current list of members includes universities and colleges, research libraries, library consortia, academic and other non-profit publishers, as well as publishing associations, scholarly societies, and a range of commercial entities concerned with the design, production or delivery of structured electronic text.
